Birdbaths:

Water is the most attractive element to lure birds into the garden. Birdbaths are made to be seen and can often serve as sculptural elements in the garden. Nothing could be more fun and relaxing than watching your backyard birds enjoy a bath. Your feathered friends will appreciate your consideration, while you will enjoy their song. Also, did you know a swallow eats it's body weight in bugs every day? Keeping the birds around will surely keep those bugs away. If you want to see the birds as they frolic and bathe in the water, be sure the birdbath is visible from your favorite window or outdoor seating area. |  |
Birds, on the other hand, need to be able to see or hear the water to know it is there. Also, evergreens or densely branched deciduous trees and shrubs are vital for winter shelter. Many birds avoid a feeder or birdbath unless they have a clear view of the surroundings, so they can detect any predators. The most popular bird feeders are located near shrubs, trees, or ornamental grasses, where birds can shelter while waiting their turn at the feeding station. Butterflies are attracted to birdbaths as well, however they prefer water located closer to ground level. Although most birds are more than content to rest on the edge of the bowl, it’s a good idea to provide a place for the birds to perch. A stone or flat object that rises out of the water will attract finicky birds. They use it to stand on as they bathe, which will be much easier to do from the middle of the bowl than from the edge. Pots & Planters:

Plantings in containers are easy to care for, easy to rearrange, and beautiful to display. We stock hundreds of styles of pots and planters, in sizes from primrose to palm tree; plain to especially fancy. Rustic pottery is high-fired stoneware. The pots are formed by hand with a brown clay and sand mixture, then baked at up to 2200F for 5 days in a wood burning kiln. The result is a distinct, one of a kind, non-porous, ceramic vessel. Rustic pots can be used for planters, water features or statement pieces throughout the home or garden. This kind of pottery will create a timeless presentation and a mood of antiquity and individuality. |
